Welcome!


I thought we would start this year's reading response homework with some introductions and questions about reading.


In your response this week, I'd like you to answer the follwing questions:

    1.I read at least twenty minutes a day. 2. Non-Fiction I love reading about animals especially horses. 3. My favorite series is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. 4. My favorite place to read is the couch.

    Reading is not something I enjoy doing so I only ready a few hours this summer. I like to read non fiction books. I dont have a favorite series. When reading I like to be in the family room. I prefer someone in the family to read to me. My favorite strategy is visualizing because I get to have pictures in my head.

    I estimate that I spent 2 hours reading on my own. When I go to the library I check out poetry books. I enjoy books by the author Shel Silverstein. My favorite place to read is the beach. I prefer being read to. My favorite reading strategy is visualizing.

    2. When you go to the library, what GENRE of books are you drawn to? (Non-Fiction, Realistic Fiction, Fantasy Fiction, poetry, etc.)When I go to the library I enjoy the GENRE realistic fiction, because I feel a connection with reading about things that are real.

    3. What author or series do you enjoy reading? I enjoy reading the series Dear Dumb Diaries and any books by Judy Blume.

    4. Where is your favorite place to read? My favorite place to read is in my bed or curled up on the couch.

    5. Do you prefer reading to yourself or being read to? I prefer to read to myself, but I love to read aloud to my baby sister Ellie.

    I prefer reading to myself because sometimes they read too fast and I cant stop and visualize what they read before.

    I like to visualize because it makes it like television in my head.

    I read about 24 hours this summer!

    I love to read Realistic Fiction.

    Well I love Megan Mcdonald and one of her series the Sisters Club.

    My favorite place to read would have to be in my nook at home.

    I love when my mom reads to me and my brother right before school starts.

    My favorite strategy is predicting.
