I thought we would start this year's reading response homework with some introductions and questions about reading.
In your response this week, I'd like you to answer the follwing questions:
1. How many hours would you estimate that you spent reading this summer?
2. When you go to the library, what GENRE of books are you drawn to? (Non-Fiction, Realistic Fiction, Fantasy Fiction, poetry, etc.)
3. What author or series do you enjoy reading?
4. Where is your favorite place to read?
5. Do you prefer reading to yourself or being read to?

Reading is not something I enjoy doing so I only ready a few hours this summer. I like to read non fiction books. I dont have a favorite series. When reading I like to be in the family room. I prefer someone in the family to read to me. My favorite strategy is visualizing because I get to have pictures in my head.

I estimate that I spent 2 hours reading on my own. When I go to the library I check out poetry books. I enjoy books by the author Shel Silverstein. My favorite place to read is the beach. I prefer being read to. My favorite reading strategy is visualizing.
